Conventional methods of spinal surgery at the National Center for Spinal Disorders

We use those standard surgical methods that have been accepted by the surgical community in general and that studies have shown to be the most effective. This does mean, however, that there would not be opportunities for further development. We are, in fact, involved in researching ways to improve results attained with the existing techniques and instruments and methods by which new instruments could help these conventional methods to be more precise.

Our work encompasses the entire spine, extending to the surgical treatment of:

  • degenerative changes,
  • trauma,
  • tumors, benign and malignant,
  • changes resulting from inflammation.
  • Also correction of spinal deformities due to abnormal development, detrition or other causes of disease.

Conservative (non-surgical) treatments at the National Center for Spinal Disorders

Non-surgical treatment has been an integral part of the National Center for Spinal Disorders ever since its inception in 1995. The patient evaluations, examinations and conservative treatments follow the institution's own diagnostic and therapeutic patient care guidelines.
